Housing
Finding an accommodation in The Netherlands is difficult. Even more so in Wageningen. Especially in Period 1 (September) and Period 4 (February), when new students arrive. It is normal to start with a sub-rent or a bad deal and then move to a better one.
Fortunately for you, are we listed some tips to help you!
Take a look at this website from Wageningen University
Check https://www.room.nl/en/
Check Housinganywhere.com.
Check Huurwoningen.nl for rental places in Wageningen.
Check Roomrentwageningen.nl and their Facebook page.
Check the Facebook pages Wageningen Student Plaza, Wageningen Rooms Sublets, and Wageningen Student Housing. These Facebook pages function as an online market place for (sub)renting rooms.
After you move to Wageningen or start your program:
Look for notes on posterboards in the big studentflats and university buildings.
Tell everybody you know that you are looking for a room in Wageningen. The more people that know, the better!
Once moved to Wageningen you need to take an appointment at the Gemeente Wageningen (Municipality) for registering as resident. The first time you register you will receive the BSN (burgerservicenummer, citizen service number). You will need it for accessing healthcare, opening a bank account and find jobs. You must communicate to the municipality every time you move within Wageningen within 3 months from the moving.
